Counseling in Context
Bridging Theory & Practice
About the Program
Counseling in Context is an online training program designed to support students and early-career therapists in grounding their practice within the complexities of real-life therapeutic work. This training moves beyond textbook techniques to examine how systemic realities, personal histories, and sociocultural contexts deeply shape therapeutic spaces.
The program takes a critical, reflective, and experiential approach to counseling, with a focus on understanding the Indian context. We recognize that therapy does not happen in isolation—it is relational, contextual, and influenced by identities, systems that shape a person’s lived experiences.
By integrating foundational counseling skills with context-sensitive and intersectional approaches, this program equips participants to hold space with awareness, care, and accountability.
