Burnout Recovery
Somatic-based Support Group

ABOUT THE GROUP

Over six weeks, this small, closed group provides a supportive space to explore chronic stress and burnout in the body. Through gentle, trauma-informed movement and awareness exercises, you’ll learn practical ways to feel calmer, safer, and more grounded, reconnect with your body, and regulate your nervous system.

This group focuses on experiencing change, not fixing yourself — learning to notice your body, understand your stress patterns, and build simple, embodied tools that support recovery and regulation.

ABOUT THE FACILITATOR

Hey! I’m Radhika, a Counselling Psychologist and Dance Movement Therapy Facilitator. Work with me is a space to slow down, feel, reflect, and reconnect with yourself. My approach is collaborative, systems- and trauma-informed, and I draw deeply from somatic (body-based) practices and movement. These aim to facilitate a process that helps you bridge and strengthen the connection between the mind and body. I believe that the body holds more than we know and my approach centers around finding ways to assess the body in a safe way.

GROUP GUIDELINES

  • Closed group:
This is a closed group, which means there are no drop-ins or late entries. Meeting with the same people each week helps build trust, safety, and a sense of connection—important for body-based work.

  • Commitment to attend all sessions:
Participants are expected to attend all six sessions. Regular attendance supports both your own process and the group’s sense of safety and continuity. When people come and go, it can disrupt the shared rhythm and trust that develops over time.

  • Participation is always by choice:
Participation is encouraged, not forced. You’re encouraged to listen to your body and participate only in ways that feel safe and manageable for you.

  • Not crisis support or therapy:
This group is not intended for crisis situations or as a substitute for individual therapy. It offers supportive, guided practices, but does not provide clinical treatment, diagnosis, or emergency support. If you are currently in crisis or need intensive mental health care, individual support may be more appropriate.

  • Sessions are not recorded or repeated:
To protect privacy and confidentiality, sessions will not be recorded. If you miss a session, it cannot be made up or repeated.

  • Fees:
The group fee is non-refundable and non-transferable. Your payment confirms your commitment and secures your place in this closed group.

THINGS YOU MIGHT BE WONDERING

  • Is this therapy or group therapy?
No. This is a guided support group using body-based practices. It is not psychotherapy or clinical group therapy and does not replace individual mental health care..

  • What does “somatic” and “movement-based” mean?
It simply means working with the body. We use gentle movements, awareness, breathing, and simple exercises to help you notice how stress lives in your body and learn ways to calm and regulate it. There is no choreography, performance, or fitness element.

  • Do I need to be a dancer, performer, or artist?
No. Absolutely not. This is not dance or performance. The movements are simple, slow, and accessible to all bodies and abilities.

  • How does this work online?
    You’ll need:

    • A private, comfortable space

    • Enough room to stretch your arms and move gently

    • A stable internet connection

    • Comfortable clothing

    • You are always in control of your space and participation. Cameras can be on or off as needed for comfort.

  • Can I join if I’m already seeing a therapist?
Yes. This group can complement individual support.

  • Can I continue with 1–1 sessions after the group?
Yes, individual sessions can be discussed only after the group ends, if you wish. This is optional and separate from the group
